India Science is an Internet-based science Over-The-Top (OTT) TV channel, established as an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. This 24/7 video platform is devoted to the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge, emphasizing the importance of fostering scientific awareness through an Indian lens, reflecting its cultural context and ethos.

Recognizing that science and technology are pivotal to national advancement, India Science aims to make the benefits of these fields accessible to all societal segments via popular media. With a vast internet user base in India—comprising 305 million urban users and 195 million rural users—there is a clear need for credible science and technology content that caters to diverse audiences. The internet has emerged as a key medium for delivering this content effectively.

The channel's programming encompasses a wide array of topics within science and technology, including Engineering, Health and Medicine, Natural Science, Environment and Wildlife, Children's Curiosity, Science and Society, Agriculture, Innovations, Scientific Heritage, and Science Policy. India Science employs a variety of interactive formats such as Documentaries, Discussion Panels, Demonstration Shows, Quizzes, Game Shows, Science Fiction, Docu-Dramas, Specials, and Biographies. A particular emphasis is placed on India’s contributions to science and technology while also keeping viewers informed about global developments in these fields.

Operating in both Hindi and English, India Science is readily accessible on any internet-enabled device—be it a laptop, desktop computer, smartphone, or smart television—and plans for a mobile app are underway. The channel is managed by Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology within the Union Ministry of Science and Technology.
